Do you want to intern with Christian Skaters?

Christian Skaters is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with this generation’s global skateboarding community. We have been reaching out to the skateboarding community since the 1990s. Inspired from the movement of Christian Surfers, Christian Skaters was officially born in 2003. Christian Skaters felt a call to link arms with skate ministries from a number of countries to form an international movement.

HOW DO I GET INVOLED?

….Your first step is to BE DISCIPLED through our partners at Patmos: Reality Discipleship.

Christian Skaters has joined forces with Patmos: Reality Discipleship, a discipleship ministry of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, to raise up the next generation of disciples who will go anywhere and do anything that God would call them to.

While at Patmos: Reality Discipleship, students of God’s Word tithe four months of their lives to the in-depth study and practical application of the Bible. Patmos models their program after Jesus’ example of discipleship. Before Jesus sent out His disciples into public ministry, He spent three years changing lives with His word. While not action-sports specific, Patmos will prepare each student for part 2 of the Christian Skaters internship at Ramp48 where interns will have the opportunity to put Jesus’ teachings into action.

During part of your internship, Patmos: Reality Discipleship has one aim—-Transformation. We desire to see: transformation in the lives of our interns that they will take into the communities they come into contact with.

At Patmos you will look at the lessons that Jesus wanted to teach His people and we seek to teach the same lessons to modern day disciples. Each student will spend 20 hours a week studying the Word of God. Then, they will have the opportunity to live out what they learn through a real life situation. Patmos is not for the faint of heart. We are looking for interns that are dedicated to Christ first and have a passion to reach the lost through skateboarding. Your four weeks at Patmos will test your heart, soul, mind and strength.

After this four month school, participants have the option of heading back to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to intern at the local skatepark with Christian Skaters. They will spend Tuesday-Friday interning at the park and getting the inside scoop about how this 10+ old skate ministry reaches local skaters in South Florida. Saturday, interns will have a chance to pour into the local skaters at our free Saturday morning lessons. You will take Sunday off to rest & worship. Monday is a FREE DAY for you to enjoy South Florida.

Today, Christian Skaters partners with ministries in over 90 countries. To further impact the lives of skaters, they host outreach events to reach the lost, skate camps to disciple young skaters, international short-term mission trips to build parks for ministry, skate conferences to equip leaders  and speaking engagements at schools, churches, and community events to impact this generation. They also feel called to impact the industry by hosting industry events and outreach to the pros and ams in the skate industry.
